[New Feature] Automatic Voyage Naming
Since we launched Nebo, we’ve been automatically naming voyages by their day of the week, for example “Saturday Morning Voyage”. This is OK, but not very informative.
The new version of Nebo now uses our geofence library, and where possible, names your voyage according to your start and end locations.
See the example here where the voyage was started at Longreach Bay and ended at Rouse Head Harbour. The title of the voyage was automatically constructed by Nebo.
If we don’t have a geofence name where you start or stop your voyage, Nebo inserts the lat/lon coordinates instead.
Remember you can rename the voyage yourself. To do this, simply tap the voyage in My Logs, then the pencil icon and then type in your own voyage title.

NEW App Update Out Now!
Say hello to the latest Nebo update!
To round out the year, we’ve put a new Nebo release up on the Apple and Android stores. Please make sure you update Nebo on your devices, and let us know how you go on your next voyage!
This new release includes a few important updates:
Improved Messaging:
We’re finding many more skippers are using Nebo to chat each other, so we’ve done some significant work behind the scenes to make messaging more efficient and reliable. So use Nebo to have a chat with your boating friends, or use Nebo to make some new ones!
New Hybrid Map
By popular demand, we’re now displaying geographic locations on the satellite map. Previously you needed to swap to ‘normal’ map view to see locations, but not anymore. Towns, roads etc. are now displayed in both views, so it’s easier to keep your bearings as you pan around the map.
Android 9 Bug Fix
There was a significant issue that stopped Nebo running on Android 9 that we’ve now addressed. So, if you have an Android device and have had problems running Nebo, make sure you update the app and then give it another go. Please let us know how you go!
Thanks to all of you for your support, ideas and feedback through 2018. We’re looking forward to bringing you some fantastic new features during 2019 and to seeing the Nebo community continue to grow and grow!
The Nebo team.

Major Update boasts a host of new features to enhance your boating!
In keeping with our mission to create a safer and more connected boating community, we are excited to introduce you to our latest app update which boasts a host of new features to enhance your boating.
With this major release, Nebo brings new features that will help you more easily connect with your boating friends.
The key words above are “boating friends”. Nebo isn’t trying to build a broad social platform like Facebook. We want Nebo to be all about boating, and all about sharing the journey.
These new features are a first step, and we hope that you’ll provide feedback to help us deliver what you and your boating friends really need. Importantly, if you decide not to interact with friends in Nebo, you’ll still enjoy all of Nebo’s voyage logging functionality.
Be sure to update your app today. We would love to hear what you think, please drop us an email with your thoughts at info@nebo.global.

NEW! Pre-start Checklists
One of the great features of the latest Nebo release is the ‘Pre-start Checklist’. Basically, you can define a checklist to be displayed whenever you prepare for a voyage.
Shore power off, enough fuel, check in with coast guard – you choose what to include. It’s a great way to ensure you remember the critical items, and importantly, it’s easy to use and doesn’t get in the way of all the other features on the Nebo boating app.
You don’t need to complete the boat start-up checklist, but if you do it’s stored with your log.
Each of your boats can have its own checklist, and they’re easy to set up:
Go to ‘Other’, then ‘My Boats’, and tap your boat’s name. Scroll to the bottom and tap ‘Pre-start Checklist’. You can delete the example items, add your own, and change their order.
Give it a go, and please let us know what you think at info@nebo.global, we’d love to hear from you.
